Margaret “Peggy” Battista, age 78, of Newtown Square, PA, daughter of the late George J. and Margaret A. (nee McCrosson) Bates, dear sister of the late Patricia “Patsy” Febbo Peggy began her career in the communication industry with Bell of Pennsylvania, rose to the position of sales representative, and then moved into a management position in the Business Office at AT&T. After retirement, she enjoyed treasure-hunting at flea markets and thrift shops. Because she also liked to shop-from-home, Peggy’s family benefited from the many useful items she bought. She loved spending time with her family and friends, tending her plants, and knitting beautiful afghans. She liked to watch cooking shows and share the techniques she learned. She enjoyed reading a good mystery. Peggy loved the trips she took to different parts of the country and the world. Although she was small, she was smart and sassy and hilarious. She was raised to live life with a sense of humor as did all her Irish relatives. Her family describes her as generous, kind, and appreciative. People like Peggy make the world brighter. Peggy is survived by her devoted daughter, Maria Rizzo; beloved grandson, Daniel J.
