I first met John in 1986. MY daughter was in his art class at Southwark school. He saw art talent in her and wanted to enter her pictures in school run art contests. Her art won first prize the first time and a few after that were first prize or second prize. In 1990 I started working at Southwark school and got to know John in a working environment. the students loved him, they called him Mr. D. I saw in the school setting he was a caring man. I learned his kindness extended into his personal life. I want to wish his family my deepest condolences. I got to meet his son Louis when my daughter won first prize in the Captain Noah Thanksgiving art contest. He came with is to WPVI broadcasting studios where the show was taped. It was a very nice day. RIP John may your spirit soar!
