Jim was a Captain with The Phila Fire Dept. , enjoyed spending time with family, “Family’s Family” and was an avid sports fan especially of the Phila Eagles. Survived by his son Brian A. Gibson, his parents Carol (nee Taggart) and Jack Gibson, his brothers John P. Gibson, Jr. (Denise) and Michael P. Gibson (Katie), 4 nephews and 3 nieces, also survived by his former wife Esther (nee Dickens) Baker. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thurs. Evening 5-8 P.M. and Fri. Morning 9-10:45 A.M. at St. Barnabas Church 6300 Buist Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19142. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 A.M. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Gibby’s memory may be made to Local 22 Widow’s Fund, Police & Fire Memorial Fund C/O IAFF Local 22, 415 N. 5th Street, Phila., PA 19123.
