McFadden, sister Teresa Joan McFadden, daughters Barbara C. McGovern and Sheila L. McGovern, and son John J. McGovern. She is survived by her sister Barbara C. Goetz (Edward), brother John J. Kish (Barbara), daughter Patricia A. McGovern, son Michael P. McGovern (Nancy), daughter-in-law Melissa L. Nassar, grandchildren Michael G. McGovern (Dianna) Joseph J. Catagnus (Jordan), Stephanie L. McGovern, and Christina M. Estrada (Manny), and great grandchildren Hayes W. Catagnus, Gustavo Estrada, Harper McGovern and Lydia McGovern. She was born Patricia T. Kish, on June 15, 1934 in Philadelphia PA to the late John J. Kish and the late Claire Russick Kish, as one of 4 children. As a young girl she was happy and active. She had fond memories of the errands that her father would send her on, she always loved being counted upon. Pat loved to dance and as a teenager would sneak out with her sister Joan to go to dances around the city – a few times they made it onto the original American Bandstand TV show. She was a gifted swing dancer and was in great demand. Pat was also athletically gifted and was a star basketball player at both West Catholic High School and Temple University where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. In 1957 she married Michael J. McGovern of Camden, NJ. With 5 children born within 9 years, Pat was a busy woman. During that time they moved at least 6 times, with stops in Emmaus, PA, Ft. Wayne, IN, Maywood, IL, Redondo Beach, CA, Berkeley Heights NJ, and Berwyn, PA. Pat raised the 5 kids while she maintained an active school and church volunteer schedule and kept up a rigorous tennis social life with her husband. Always volunteering, she coached a Girls CYO Basketball team in the early 1970’s and was proud of having helped them earn a spot in the 1973 National Championships. In the 1980’s Pat earned a Special Ed Teaching Certificate from Penn State University and taught at Devereaux School in Devon, PA for some years. After a divorce in 1983, she met and married Daniel J. McFadden of Summit Hill, PA in 1987. She then taught Special Ed for another 15 years in the Harrisburg, PA public school system before permanently relocating to Boca Raton after retirement in 2002. While living in Boca Raton, Pat worked part time as a teacher, home health aide, and community response volunteer. Pat always enjoyed helping people who needed assistance. She taught her children to look for the best in any circumstances and she was always optimistic and physically active. She tried to help make situations better for the people she loved. Over the years in Boca Raton she happily opened her home to her children, grandchildren, and many countless friends of the grandchildren. She is sorely missed by her family and friends, and all who knew her. Relatives and Friends are invited to her Visitation on Saturday, June 27, 2020, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM with Mass to follow 11:00 at St. Norbert’s Church 50 Leopard Road, Paoli, PA Inurnment Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA
