Michael S. Simpson, age 74, of Springfield, PA, formerly of S.W. Philadelphia and Yeadon, PA. died suddenly on August 9, 2017, at his home. Michael was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Airforce, a graduate of Neumann University, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and had a long career in the transportation industry, culminating as Director of Labor Relations. Beloved husband of the late Maria (nee Musumeci) and the father of the late Mark and Christopher Simpson. Devoted father of Robert C. Simpson (Alicia), Joanne M. Buscaglia (Joseph) and daughter in law Kathleen Simpson. Loving Grandfather of Brian, Matthew, Julianna, Emily, Sara, Luke, and John. Funeral Services and Interment Private. I just learned of Mike's passing and I was saddened. He was a good person as well as a colleague. When I became a District Superintendent at Septa, Mike was senior to me, he was the person I called with questions and for advice. He always provided accurate guidance. Mike could be stubborn and it could be an arduous task to get him to shift an opinion. But, it was known to happen; rare but possible.
My condolences to his impressive family. Mike was a great guy and I'm sorry that we lost contact. However, my memory of him will always be of a man of good character who had great insights.

I worked with Mike all through the 1970's at SEPTA. He was a talented and hard working manager who dedicated himself to providing quality transportation to the customers. Bless him also for his Air Force service.
