Marciano 1924~2021 Josephine Marciano, nee Natale was born 14 Jul 1924 in Darby, PA to Michael and Stefanina (nee Meluzzio) Natale. She departed this world on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in the caring, peaceful environment of Vitas Hospice. The long wait to embrace her departed husband of 67.5 years, Michael Marciano is finally over. Josephine will be remembered as a compassionate, self-less, unstoppable force of service and an example of relentless execution of duty. The number of individuals cared for and touched by her is unknown because she never spent time counting her good deeds or acts of instantaneous kindness. If there was a need, it was filled without a thought. Focused on practical matters and acting in simple ways, she moved small mountains. She never sat in the first row or held titles or offices. Her participation in formal organizations was limited. She rarely sat down as that would prohibit her ability to survey her world and anticipate the needs she could fulfill. Ever at the side of her beloved husband, “Mike”, she found ways to support him in his every tiny quest and put her special shine on all they did together. Almost everything they did was for someone else or for another higher purpose within their world. Josephine’s most remembered talents were expressed in the kitchen in the form of cooking and especially baking. She also crocheted, sewed, and put her two cents into many school projects. Her community involvement began on 6100 Reedland Street and extended throughout the Our Lady of Loreto Parish. Josephine and Mike took great pride in their work for the St. Anthony of Padua Society for over 40 years (30 of which Mike served as Vice President). Their home was a focal point along the Annual Procession to Honor the Feast of St. Anthony, and they welcomed the St. Anthony Society, the other Parish Societies, and for many years, the St. Michael’s Band of Gibbstown, New Jersey. Josephine actively supported and loved her neighbors on Reedland Street until her last days. She instilled a sense of purposeful action into all around her as an ad hoc tutor in her areas of expertise. As Josephine has passed, so has a guardian and anchor to a lifestyle to which her survivors can still recall with love and to which they can strive for themselves and their own families. Josephine leaves behind in this world, one sister, Edith Romano, a loving daughter Annamarie Horan, her “best pal” son-in-law Jamie Horan, three granddaughters, Summer Rose Horan, Haeley Christian Horan, LTJG, USN, and Raven Horan and one grandson, Eman Horan. She also loved dearly her “adopted” son, Robert Kreszswick (Debbie) and his whole family. In addition, Josephine is proud to have been the loving Aunt of Michael Natale (Shirley), Vincent Romano (Alba), Stephanie Colarullo (Fred), Michael J. Natale, Ralph Natale, Edward Natale (Kelly), Tina Natale Host (Tim), Jay Marciano (wife of Mickey), Vincent Marciano (Betty Ann), Anthony Marciano, Ray Marciano, Mark Marciano (Debbie), Michael Marciano (Aileen), and Jimmy Marciano. She was the proud Godmother of Michael Marciano (Michelle), Donna D’Orazio Legradi (Mark Colvin), and Jacqueleen (Faulkner) MacLaughlin (Matt). She will also be remembered by beloved cousins Franny (Marciano) McClure (Dennis) and Connie Marciano, many other cousins, Great-Nieces & Nephews, friends, and neighbors. Josephine has rejoined her loving parents, brothers John Natale (Angie), Edward Natale (Rose), and Michael Natale (Eleanor) and sisters Mary Natale, Margaret Papagano (Lou), Martha D’Orazio (Ralph), and brother-in-law Vincent Romano. Her heart and spirit has been filled with joy to see her many other in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. The family fully understands the present concerns over the pandemic risks. Any and all forms of expression of compassion and remembrance will be greatly appreciated. Mass cards, flowers, visitations, donations to a charity of your choice, donations to the St. Anthony of Padua Society or St. Barnabas Church, or even texts or calls to the bereaved according to your preference and relationship to Josephine are all warmly welcome. Silent prayers for her and recurring happy thoughts of her are also equally appropriate. For Josephine now, “All is Well” and we who love her are anticipating the time we see her again. Relatives and Friends are invited to her Viewing on Thursday September 23, 2021 from 7PM-9:00 PM at St. Barnabas Church, 6300 Buist Avenue, Philadelphia PA, 19142 ; again on Friday, September 24th (ALL IN CHURCH) 9:30AM-10:15AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
