Edward F. Koronkiewicz, age 90, of Upper Darby, PA peacefully passed away on February 21, 2021. Edward was predeceased by his parents, Kazimierz and Helen (nee Olszewska) and brothers Charles, Chester, Walter (Lillian), Mitchell (Catherine “Kitty”) and sisters Helen Cavanaugh (Jack) and Eleanor. Also survived by many nieces and nephews here and in England. Beloved husband of the late Alma (nee DeGroot). Survived by his devoted children, sons Br. Edward Koronkiewicz, FSC, David Koronkiewicz (Kate), Alan Koronkiewicz, Thomas Koronkiewicz (Mary), Mitchell Koronkiewicz, and daughter Lynne Keebler (Edward). Cherished grandchildren Elizabeth Koronkiewicz (Jeff Bube), David Koronkiewicz (Corrine), Melissa Kuder (C.r.), Carissa Baker (Nick Lucas), Josh Koronkiewicz (Traci), Nick Koronkiewicz (Kelsey), Edward Keebler (Kelsey Ploppert), Kyle Keebler (Ling Yeo), Jake Keebler (Val McFarland) and Nathan Koronkiewicz. Also survived by his treasured great-grandchildren Rachel, Alex, Madelynn, David, Charlotte, Katy, Edward, Benji, Joshua, Madison and Jack. Edward was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. He graduated from John Bartram High School. After graduation, Edward entered into the US Air Force in July 1949. He was an Airman First Class during his service and received an Honorable Discharge in December 1952. Edward continued his military career first as an Aircraft Hydraulic Technician and then as a Production Controller (Electronics) in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, 111th Fighter Wing. Edward retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1987. While stationed in England with the US Air Force, Edward met his future wife Alma at a dance hall in Margate, Kent. After a short, long distance courtship, Edward proposed marriage and Alma sailed on her own to America to marry Edward on June 28, 1952. They were married for 67 years. They raised their six children first residing in Southwest Philadelphia for 16 years and then moving to Kirklyn, Upper Darby in 1968. After retirement, Edward enjoyed bowling, electronics, model trains and vacationing with family in England and North Wildwood. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation 12 noon-1:15 p.m. followed by A Celebration of life and Service of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 6th, 2021,at 1:30 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA.
